Community Assistance

 

Individuals in need of assistance can be helped by the Community Assistance program.

Services Include:

  •  

  • Food vouchers

  • Provide goods: Household items, personal hygiene items

  • Utility assistance on a limited basis

  • Referrals to other providers when Catholic Charities is unable to assist

  • Linkages to Social Services Department

  • Services available in Utica, Rome and Oneida

  • Provides assistance during Christmas, by being one of the Operation Sunshine and Stuff the Bus

  • Funding sources: United Way, Hope Appeal, Operation Sunshine, & Donations

You can submit this form online below or if you prefer to mail or deliver in person you can download it here (instructions are on the form).

Criteria for Financial Assistance
Before you complete an application for assistance, please read the following:
Financial assistance varies from site to site, depending upon funding and resources.
Rental assistance is not available if you currently live in Section 8, public, or any other type of subsidized housing OR you are paying more than 75% of your income for rent.
Utility bills must not be more than 30 days overdue.
Security Deposits (rental and utility) are not eligible for assistance.
Car repair, payments, insurance, gas, or other costs may be considered if needed foemployment or medical treatment appointments.
If you have not done so, you will be asked to contact all other sources of assistance first, before we assess your nee
Request can take up to 7 business days to process
